Lawrence Page obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1964 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1965 where he has practiced in the areas of natural resource law and corporate and securities law to the present date. Through his experience with natural resource companies and, in particular, precious metals development, Mr. Page has established a unique relationship with financiers, geologists and consultants and has been counsel for public Companies which have discovered and developed producing mines in North America. Specifically, he has been a Director and Officer of Companies which have discovered and brought into production the David Bell and Page Williams mines in Ontario, the Snip, Calpine/Eskay Creek and Mascot Gold Mines in British Columbia, as well as the discovery of the Penasquito Mine in Mexico.

Mr. Page is the principal of the Manex Resource Group of Vancouver which provides administrative, financial, corporate, corporate finance and geological services to a number of public companies in the mineral resource sector. He currently serves as a director of four public companies, including Bravada Gold Corporation, Equity Metals Corporation, Southern Silver Exploration Corp. and Valterra Resource Corporation.

Mr. Macdonald through his role as Vice President of Geological Services for the Manex Resource Group of Companies has acted as the Vice President Exploration and Exploration Manager for several publicly traded Junior Exploration companies including Southern Silver Exploration Corporation, Equity Metals Corporation, Homestake Resource Corporation (formerly Bravo Gold Corp.), Valterra Resource Corporation, Duncastle Gold Corp. and Fortune River Gold Corporation.

Mr. Macdonald has overseen the exploration of many projects throughout North America including the discovery and delineation of the high-grade 1.2 million ounce Homestake Ridge Au-Ag deposit in northern British Columbia; is currently advancing Southern Silver’s 24 million tonne Cerro Las Minitas Ag-Pb-Zn project, Durango State, Mexico; and Equity Metals’ Au-Ag Silver Queen project, British Columbia.

Mr. Macdonald graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1990 and earned a MSc. from the University of British Columbia in 1999. Over his 30 years work in the geosciences Mr. Macdonald has focused on vein and intrusion-related gold systems, VMS and Skarn/CRD environments. Prior to joining Manex, Mr. Macdonald worked as a geologist with the British Columbia Geological Survey and Teck Exploration on projects in Alaska, Peru and British Columbia.

Mr. Kizis is a Certified Professional Geologist with a B.S. in Geology from Kent State University and an M.S. in Geology from the University of Colorado. He has +40 years of experience in exploration for gold, silver, copper, molybdenum, lead, zinc, and uranium in the U.S., Canada and abroad. He is the President and a director of Bravada Gold Corporation, as well as Equity Metals Corporation, director of Valterra Resource Corporation, and previously of Homestake Resource Corporation as well as Fortune River Resource Corp. (which amalgamated with Bravada Gold Corporation in 2011). Mr. Kizis has held previous executive positions and directorships with Fairmile GoldTech, Sierra Geothermal, the Geological Society of Nevada, and the GSN Foundation.

Mr. Thatcher moved from London, England to Vancouver, British Columbia in 2006. Specializing in financial reporting and auditing across a breadth of business
sectors in both the UK and Canada, he brings extensive experience of operating with International Financial Reporting Standards and paperless
systems. Prior to joining Manex, he worked in public practice at Smythe LLP with companies in the mining and exploration sector.
Mr. Thatcher obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Economics from Lancaster University in 1995, which included a one year program at
the University of British Columbia. He is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Mr. Thatcher is
also volunteer board member and treasurer at Heritage Hall Preservation Society, a non-profit charitable organization whose mandate is to restore and manage
Heritage Hall, a landmark building located in Vancouver.

Prior to joining Malaspina, Mr. Ruby was an Assurance Partner at Wolrige Mahon LLP (now Baker Tilly Canada) working predominantly with resource and other junior public companies, and formerly was a Senior Manager with KPMG LLP working on a range of public companies and reporting issuers. He holds a BSc. (Accounting) from University College Cork, Ireland, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Corporate Treasury from Dublin City University, Ireland, and received his Chartered Accountant designations from Canada and Ireland in 2010 and 2002, respectively.

Mr. Kerr graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1964 with a BASc degree in Geological Engineering. He has participated continuously in the mining industry since graduation as an exploration geologist, representing Canadian Johns-Manville Co. Ltd. in all areas of Canada during his early career in the 1960s. During the 1970s and early 1980s, he initiated a consulting business out of Kamloops, British Columbia, participating in exploration programs in all areas of North America, moving to Vancouver in 1984 to assume the role of managing director of several junior mining companies. As a consultant, John specialized in supervising remote projects in the High Arctic regions of northern Canada and Greenland.

John has gained experience in recognition and identification of mineral potential in a diversified field of geological environments. His expertise is epithermal and sedex-hosted precious metal deposits in the southwest United States, strata controlled gold deposits and porphyry copper/gold/molybdenum deposits of the western Cordillera, and VMS deposits in all areas of North America.

Mr. Rowley obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia in 1990 and has more than 25 years of executive experience in the exploration, mineral testing, and mine environmental industries, including capital markets and operations. He is active in several TSX-listed companies in addition to Bravada, including Group Ten Metals, Granite Creek Copper, and Temas Resources, and also private ventures in the resource recovery and environmental treatment industries. He is the co-author of numerous technical papers and obtained patents on mine water treatment and recycling technologies based on mining industry techniques, and is an officer of Sierra Mountain Minerals Inc.

Nigel Bunting is based in London and an active participant in a number of resource ventures, both public and private. He is a Director of Bravada Gold Corporation, Southern Silver Exploration Corp. & Valterra Resource Corporation, all 3 companies are quoted on the TSX Venture stock exchange. Nigel identifies early stage opportunities in the resource sector and arranges financings to advance projects to the public market. He is a Director of Anglia Registrars, trading as Inform Direct, which is one of the UK’s leading cloud based technology companies relating to company formation, administration and secretarial services. He is also a Director of MFB Corporate Member Ltd, an insurance underwriter at Lloyds of London.

Mr. McDonald received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1964 and subsequently received his designation as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in October 1968. From 1968 until 1973, Mr. McDonald practiced with Price Waterhouse in Canada and in Australia. From 1974 until 1984, Mr. McDonald worked in private partnerships except for a two year period from 1980 to 1982 when he was a senior officer in a junior resource company. For the past 15 years, Mr. McDonald has been in public practice with his own firm and then joined Smythe Ratcliffe Chartered Accountants in 2005, and has since retired. Working principally with clients related to mining and mineral exploration, he is also involved as director of several junior resource companies.

Mr. Shearer has been an entrepreneur all his working career. After working in the BC timber industry and in a junior silver producer in the Canadian Arctic, he co-founded and ran a private oilfield service company in Alberta for a decade and successfully sold it to a large, multi-national corporation.

He was involved in several junior Canadian exploration and production companies for 15-years as a board member and in the C-suite, including being CFO for Merit Mining Corp. when they opened the Greenwood Gold Project in 2008.

He was also a director and consultant for San Gold Corporation when they opened the Rice Lake, Manitoba gold mine and grew from a market capitalization of $18 million to over $1.1 billion in 6 years. He worked on the business development team that raised over $120 million to finance that growth and conversion from the TSX Venture Exchange to the TSX.

He is currently a partner in a private company that provides implementation of land development, funding and financial strategies to private, public and not-for-profit organizations.


Director of Southern Silver Exploration Corp.

Mr. Scammell has 40 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry in North America, México and Guatemala principally with epithermal gold/silver, polymetallic base metal, and nickel and coal deposits.  He was the Country Manager (México) for Teck Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary, Minera Teck S.A. de C.V. from 1992 to 2002. 

Under his direction, Minera Teck discovered the 72 million tonne San Nicolas volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit in Zacatecas, México and the El Limon gold skarn in Guerrero, México. From 2004 until December 2010, he was initially the Vice President of Exploration and later President of Scorpio Mining Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary Minera Cosalá.  During this time, he was responsible for the administration and execution of the exploration, development and initial production of the Nuestra Señora polymetallic silver mine in Sonora, México as well as supervising the construction of the 1,400 tonnes per day flotation mill.

Mr. Spiering is an exploration geologist with over 30 years of international experience in mineral exploration and senior level project management in the Western United States, South America, and Europe. As VP Exploration with Rio Narcea Gold Mines, he participated in every aspect of the mining industry from discovery through project development and production of the El Valle gold and Aguablanca nickel mines in Spain. He was previously VP Exploration for Quaterra Resources Inc. and Duncastle Gold Corp. 

Mr. Spiering is a registered member of Society of Mining, Metallurgy, & Exploration and a fellow member of Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.


Director of Valterra Resource Corporation

Mr. McGrath is a member of APEGBC and attained his Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences from Memorial University in Newfoundland in 1992. He’s dedicated over 25 years to the mineral exploration industry through geosciences, education and sustainability. His background includes exploration for gold and base metals via banded iron formations, VHMS deposits and lode gold systems.

Brian joined Manex in 2007 after spending six years with Cumberland Resources Ltd. on a team that brought the Meadowbank Gold Project in Nunavut to a multi-million ounce reserve. Other key past-positions include: Mineral Resource Officer with BC’s Ministry of Energy and Mines, and Project Geologist positions with Homestake Exploration Canada; Echo Bay Mines Ltd. and Redfern Resources.  Currently he is the Principal of bmx Geological Services.


Director of Southern Silver Exploration Corp.

Dr. Buchanan serves as the Chief Geologist and President of Electrum Resources LLC. Dr. Buchanan served as the Chief Geologist of Apex Corporation since 1995. Prior to that he served as a Principal Advisor of international operations at Apex Silver Mines Ltd.  He is a noted exploration geologist with a reputation as one of the industry’s leading experts on epithermal deposits and has written a definitive text that describes the genesis and exploration for precious metal epithermal veins systems.

Dr. Buchanan serves as a Director of Begeyge Minera Ltda. He was previously a Director of TintinaGold Resources Inc. (formerly, Mantra Mining Inc.) from 2009 to 2011. His analysis of such deposits has given rise to the industry paradigm known as ‘The Buchanan Model’. Dr. Buchanan has played a key role in identifying several multi-million ounce gold deposits, and developed implementation programs for numerous currently producing mines. His consulting clients included Cyprus Minerals Company, FMC Corporation, Total Resources, Inc. and Fischer-Watt Gold Co. Inc. He is the 2006 recipient of the Thayer Lindsley award for the discovery of the San Cristobal Mine located in the Potosi Mining district of Bolivia. Dr. Buchanan holds a B.Sc. and a Ph. D in economic geology from the Colorado School of Mines.

Mr. Cheesbrough is President of the Exploration Division of The Electrum Group LLC. He has more than 30 years of experience as a senior financial executive of public and private companies in various industries including the mining industry, where he was the Chief Financial Officer of Echo Bay Mines Ltd. Most recently, Mr. Cheesbrough was Chief Financial Officer of ZeaChem, the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for CIBER, a global information technology consulting, services and outsourcing company listed on the NYSE. Mr. Cheesbrough is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.


Director of Southern Silver Exploration Corp.

Mr. Donald R. Head, a native of Arizona and a resident of Scottsdale graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Business and holds a law degree from the University of Arizona. He co-founded Centurian Development and Investments Inc., a company engaged in real estate development. He practiced as an Attorney in Arizona where, for many years, he represented Canadian public mineral exploration companies in property acquisitions and equity finance.

He has served in an advisory capacity and as a Director of Canadian public companies, notably Valterra Resource Corporation, Southern Silver Exploration Corp., Fortune River Resource Corp. and Duncastle Gold Corp.  He currently serves as Officer of Head Management Investments LLC. and formerly served as the Founder, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Title Group Inc., a public company providing title insurance services in the USA, since inception in 1981 until it was sold in 2006 for gross proceeds of $265 million.

Gina Jones is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of PenderFund Capital Management Ltd. Previously, Gina was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of an independent brokerage firm in Vancouver, as well as CFO for its US subsidiary. Prior to that, Gina was CFO at two Vancouver investment dealers. Gina holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC, articled with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and is a CPA, CA and CF, a Chartered Professional Accountant with Corporate Finance specialty designation. She holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Arie Page obtained her law degree in 2004 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2005.  Ms. Page has been working with public resource companies in the minerals sector for over 14 years and currently serves as corporate secretary to several reporting issuers including Bravada Gold Corporation, Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd., Southern Silver Exploration Corp., Equity Metals Corporation, Valterra Resource Corporation and Velocity Minerals Ltd.
